Dragon Quilt, 2024

The technique that I usually use in my illustration practice is printing: risograph, linocut or digital printing. Therefore, with this project I aimed to bring more 3 dimensionality to my usual 2D work. I regard this quilt as a 3D textile illustration.

I personally use affirmation cards and I really recognized their value when I was going through a tough time. Picking a card when I needed encouragement really helped and gave me a hopeful feeling. Therefore, I decided that I want to design my own affirmation cards as well.

I started by designing 3 Christmas postcards with this tree character, which I then riso printed. I liked this character so much that I wanted to experiment with creating patterns for seasonal packaging.
